What still is true
Houston lawns still lose more water to a broken head than to a slightly short run time. Even-odd schedules, where a utility uses them, still follow the street number. Morning watering still beats midday sun. Those ideas survive a stage change. The exact days do not.
What we set
We look up the current notice for the address, then we set one program that matches it. If the controller has three programs left on from an old install, we turn the extras off so the yard does not water on a forbidden day by accident.
