How irrigation behaves in Richmond
Richmond combines established areas with fast-growing communities and a wide range of lot sizes and irrigation layouts. Construction activity, settling, bed changes, and long lateral lines can lead to leaks, low pressure, or heads that no longer sit at grade.
Richmond is two jobs. Pecan Grove is mature trees, longer laterals, and fittings with age. Aliana, Harvest Green, Long Meadow Farms, and Veranda are newer sections where the heads should still be at grade and often are not, because the soil settled or the mower found them. Brazos-bottom clay stays soft after rain, which hides a leak inside a yard that is wet everywhere. We run the station anyway.
The turf we see most is St. Augustine and Bermuda. The ground is brazos bottom clay. ZIPs that come up on this route include 77406, 77407, 77469. Those ZIPs are not a watering law. The utility named on the bill publishes the current days and hours, and two houses in the same ZIP can be on different providers. We check the notice for the address instead of copying a neighbor’s program.
Neighborhood by neighborhood
These are the sections we mean when we say Richmond. A visit does not look the same in each of them.
- Aliana. Heads here are often buried in the turf or bumped by the mower. We run the station and watch where the water lands before we raise or replace anything.
- Harvest Green. Valve boxes disappear under mulch. A zone that will not close is usually in the box, not in the garage clock.
- Long Meadow Farms. Bed lines have moved since the builder installed the pipe. Old nozzles water the new walk unless someone re-aims them.
- Pecan Grove. Side yards are tight. One extra head, or one cracked head, drops pressure for the rest of the strip.
- Veranda. Shade and sun share stations that should not share a runtime. We write that down instead of adding minutes to the whole program.
Repairs we schedule here
Every repair below has its own page for Richmond, with the local soil and the neighborhoods above. Start with the symptom you can see.
- Sprinkler Repair in Richmond. A system that skips zones, sprays the sidewalk, or never shuts off needs a diagnosis before it needs new parts.
- Broken Sprinkler Head Repair in Richmond. A cracked head can flood one spot while leaving the rest of the lawn dry.
- Sprinkler Leak Detection and Repair in Richmond. A soggy patch or an unexplained water bill can point to a concealed irrigation leak.
- Sprinkler Valve Repair in Richmond. A valve that sticks open can waste water long after the controller says the cycle is finished.
- Sprinkler Controller Repair in Richmond. When the schedule looks right but the lawn stays dry, the timer may not be sending a usable signal.
- Sprinkler Zone Troubleshooting in Richmond. One dry zone usually has a different cause than an entire system that will not run.
- Low Sprinkler Pressure Repair in Richmond. Weak spray can come from a leak, an obstruction, a valve, or a change on the supply side.
- Irrigation System Inspection in Richmond. A full system check finds small coverage problems before they become larger water losses.
- Residential Sprinkler Repair in Richmond. Keep the home landscape watered without soaking the street, the foundation edge, or one corner of the yard.
- Commercial Sprinkler Repair in Richmond. Troubleshoot irrigation on commercial landscapes, shared grounds, and managed properties.
- Urgent Sprinkler Repair in Richmond. A burst line or a valve stuck open should be contained before it damages the landscape or wastes more water.
- Sprinkler Maintenance in Richmond. Periodic checks keep a working system from gradually becoming a water-wasting one.
Houston Sprinkler Repair has been on these systems since 2011. The listed license is TX LI 6529. Call 346-642-6161 with the city, the station if you know it, and whether water is moving right now.
Soil we plan around: Brazos bottom clay. Turf we see most: St. Augustine and Bermuda. ZIPs that come up often include 77406, 77407, 77469. The utility named on the water bill still controls any watering calendar. Confirm the current notice before you rewrite a controller from a neighborhood screenshot.
